Group Equipment Specialist - Ref IEJF0719

Auto4 are looking to expand their sales team with a group equipment specialist. The role will be office based and requires a confident candidate to prepare, follow up and close quotations for our wide range of equipment. The role will include;

1.     Contact existing customers  to promote our equipment range
2.     Generate equipment quotes (to support own activity) but also prepare quotes for field sales reps. This will be template based and consistent across all quotes
3.     Coordinate the equipment log, make sure it reflects all quotes and is always up to date (with all information)
4.     Use the equipment quotation log to very actively follow up quotations to closure
5.     Respond to inbound equipment enquiries (generated either online or telephone)
6.     Monitor customer feedback and conversion rates, reasons for not buying and adapt approach and pricing accordingly
7.     In conjunction with Directors control the equipment price list, making sure it is based on the most recent cost prices, exchange rates and reflects the margin the group wants to achieve. Re-issue monthly
8.     Be a specialist equipment point of contact for staff, customers and suppliers (of equipment)
9.     Work with marketing to ensure weekly equipment marketing communications and sales promotions
10.  Work with marketing to ensure the website promoted equipment (in an effective way)
11.  Ensure the group always has the most up to date and accurate information regarding equipment
12.  Be the voice of equipment in the business, issuing weekly information (by email, social media) to ensure equipment is always front of mind (for the sales teams)
13. Build a database of customers with current machines (and age), to identify and target replacement opportunities
14. Ensure that sales teams understand the benefits of our range over that of the competition
15. Work with the engineers to make sure we maximise the potential for new business sales

Role dimensions

  • Based in Didcot office
  • Reports to – tbc
  • Excellent OTE earnings
  • Solid basic salary

  • Preferably experience in selling tyre equipment, or proactively selling technical products
  • Preferably experience in the tyre or automotive parts/consumable/equipment industry
  • Strong computing skills, particularly excel
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Engaging, positive and persuasive  personality
